24 Hour FamineWould you like to clean your teeth in water that had been used as a toilet???
On the weekend of 14th /15th Feb the young people of Shefford churches' youth group YNU, are doing something about it - they are taking part in World Vision's 24 hour famine weekend again this year. The aim is to provide clean water for everyone as a basic right. Due to problems with some of those taking part being unable to fast this year we have decide to focus on the water aspect. They will have to collect our water from the river, take it back to the church , filter it and then exchange it for fresh water. However the Young people will only be allowed 1 litre to drink, the rest can be used for washing etc. They will also only be allowed very basic food, similar to food available in a developing country. We are hoping to have a COIN RIVER this year as the coin line last year was so successful. It only takes £50 to provide 37 families with a water filter to keep worms out of their drinking water and £100 will provide a cement ring well to provide clean safe water. Your Support Is NeededSponsor forms will be in Shefford Baptist, Shefford Methodist and St.Michael's Cof E church or phone Jenny on 01462 626101.
