Shefford Youngsters Are Twice As Good!

Coins were laid out in a number of imaginative ways...You may remember that in February this year, Shefford's youngsters held a Sponsored Famine, Coin Line etc to raise money for World Vision's famine relief work in Africa?

We were really pleased to be able to announce at the time that the event had raised over £500 (if you've ever done any fundraising you'll know just how big an achievement that was!).

Well, the news just received from the Shefford Baptist Church is that the total now stands at a massive
£975 - twice as good!

What This Much Money Can Do:

  • Send over 240 children in asia to school for a year
  • Provide safe drinking water to over 550 families in Nigeria
  • Enable 9 Vietnamese families to start a small business to support themselves

"I hope you realise how many coins were counted to get that total..."
Philip Vass, Treasurer, Shefford Baptist Church

"To be honest, I thought we'd be good for £500, but this has outstripped that by a long shot!"
Steve Summerfield, Minister, Shefford Baptist Church

Our sincere thanks and prayers go out to everyone who got involved in organising it, doing it, contributing to it, and counting it!

In all of these areas, one name stands out for special mention - Jenny Vass. Jenny's inspirational and seemingly tireless work on behalf of the young people of Shefford often goes unnoticed - please join us in sending her our thanks, congratulations and prayers for yet another job well done...
