We have an ongoing, varied and inspirational programme of Cultural Events staged in our uniquely intimate, comfortable, accessible and well-equipped venue.

We hope you will find the time to join us and support our efforts in promoting Shefford as a major cultural venue in the Mid Beds region.

Informal Organ Concert, by local organ students (with other instruments ad hoc..!).

All are welcome and donations are invited to help us meet the cost of recent repairs to this historically important instrument.

The concert starts at 3pm , and is followed by refreshments at 4pm

Stars In The Universe

A new musical from Jenny Dann that promises to be a "cosmic love story". Informal drop-in workshops are starting in October 2014, formal rehearsals start in January 2015, and the World Premier performances will be in October 2015.

Recent events have included:

• Sea Story - A musical by Jenny Dann performed at St Michael's in October 2013. It continued the story of Paul from the previous musical, "Travelling Band" as he travelled the world spreading the gospel and building Christ's Church.
• Three Counties Choir - performed a Festival of Winter Music for us in December 2012. Suddenly it feels like Christmas! Click here for more details...

• Sandra Grant - a brilliant local saxophonist, flautist and vocalist with the amazing ability to cover any style of music, (jazz, latin, blues, R&B, soul, raggae, calypso, rock, pop) with such comfort and ease that she blew our minds on Saturday 27th september 2008. Click here for more details...
• Songs From The Cross - A multimedia experience devised by Jenny Dann and performed at St Michael's on Saturday 6th October 2007
• Cool Classics In Quiet Corners - This top-quality series of orchestral mini-concerts came to St Michael's for the first time on Sunday 18th February 2007. 

  Following a local-interest talk and refreshments, the concert featured the soloists of the Philharmonia Brass Ensemble and included pieces by Scheidt, Pachelbel, Ewald, Copland, Weill and Gershwin. 

• Angelmas - World premiere of Jenny Dann's spectacular new musical telling the apocryphal story of the Great Battle for Heaven, developed from a series of workshops in 2003

• The Arada Guitar Duo - this classical guitar duo gave us a breathtaking performance in September 2006, including works by Napoleon Coste, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, K. Giorginakis, Dimitri Fampas, Joaquin Rodrigo, and Johann Kasper Mertz. Click here for more details...
• The Lyra Vocal Ensemble from St Petersburg, Russia. Their spectacular concert in March 2006 included a mix of Russian Sacred and Folk Music together with World Classical music. Click here for more details...

• Garth Hewitt - as part of his highly acclaimed "Fruits of Nicaragua" tour, Garth's concert in November 2004 told the story of the Amos Trust visit to Nicaragua in February 2004. It reflected something of the hope, potential, dignity and humanity that Amos' partners in Nicaragua have shown us, and how in turn we might respond...
• Angelmas (Workshops) - A series of workshops, held in August 2003 to start the process of creating a new musical telling the story of Michael the Archangel and the Great Battle for Heaven. The performance date is still 'TBA' but with it's mixture of songs, drama, dance, art etc., Angelmas promises to be an epic production...
