Saviour

The following poem was written for the Maundy Thursday evening of art at St. Michael & All Angels Church in Shefford

As Pilate washed his hands of guilt,
he cared not for the blood he spilt.
But how, I wonder, would we have felt
if in our hands Jesus' fate be dealt?

For as we sin and walk away,
Jesus dies for us all each day.
His love, undying as His word,
cries out to us that it be heard.

He is our Shepherd, we His flock,
no need to founder on His rock.
Behold the message, ever true,
Jesus lives, but died for you!
