We are currently rebuilding our website so that it can meet the technical needs of our 'online' world.
This is being made possible by the generous support of the Heritage Lottery Fund. It forms part of a larger project which has included the successful restoration of our historical Church Tower (Shefford's oldest structure), and the development and delivery of accessible heritage information.
As this is still very much a 'work in progress', our old website is still available - just click on the 'Old Website' link above.
St Michael & All Angels Church is committed to high standards in the safeguarding and care of children, young people and vulnerable adults. To report a concern or learn more see Safeguarding Information and read our Policy.
We're Opening For Worship Again!
We are delighted to welcome you to Holy Communion on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month @ 9am, starting from Sunday 9th August.
There will be reduced numbers of places available to ensure Covid 19 social distancing recomendations are complied with, so booking will be required (details to follow once necessary permissions etc. are in place). There is an FAQ available in the news section. An update was added to this on Sunday 26th July re the recommended use of face coverings.
We are looking forward to seeing you...
As far as we know, the online worship will continue for the forseeable future, so St Michael's and our sister church, St Mary's in Meppershall are still worshipping together on-line; still loving and still reaching out.
We are doing this twice a day at 9 O Clock ('9-and-9'):
- 9am is "Coffee and Morning Prayer". If you are able to, please download the Lectio 365 App to follow along with the LIVE broadcast: https://www.24-7prayer.com/dailydevotional
- 9pm is 'Cocoa and Compline'
- PLUS, Sunday morning @ 10.30 (see Online Worship page for service and activity sheets links). THIS MAY CHANGE - check back soon pease.
You can also listen to the latest Sunday service by phone - please share this with a friend who doesn't have internet - dial: 01462 559112.
Thursday 8th October 2020
The APCM looks back over the previous year and the required reports will be presented, ie Churchwarden, Electoral Roll, PCC Secretary & Treasurer, plus a Rector's report.
We also look forward and adopt our Mission Action Plan for the coming year.
Although APCMs are often thought of as quite boring business meetings (and they can be!), I find them also an opportunity to pause and revisit God's calling to us in this place, to celebrate the year that is past, and to listen together for God's guidance as we move forward into the year to come.
Are you likely to attend the APCM in person? If coming to the church please let us know so that we can arrange seating, thank you.

Sunday 11th October 2020
Despite Covid we will still be celebrating Harvest, just not in the usual ways!
The 'Real' service will be the Holy Communion Service in church at 9am on Sunday 11th October, but we will also be celebrating on-line at 10.30 on Sunday 4th October.
Gifts for the Need Project may be left in the boxes at the back of the Church on either of the two 'Private Prayer Fridays' preceeding the service (2nd and 9th October).
Alternatively, if you are planning to attend on 11th, feel free to bring your gift then, but do please let us know that you are coming, thank you!
