Scarecrow Festival 2012

Saturday 13th October saw an imaginative and brightly coloured group of Scarecrows loitering in St Michael's.

Scarecrows were entered by Shefford Lower School, Acorn Pre-school and The Mighty Oaks, and The Doll's House, Shefford. The webteam has learned that a surprise late entry may also appear on Sunday 14th...

Visitors (and there were plenty as this was Farmer's market day) were invited to vote for their favourite scarecrow, but, like last year, most people were so impressed with the quality of the entries that choosing just one was extremely difficult.

Unfortunately, the scarecrows seemed to be utterly ineffective at scaring away the dozen or so pigeons that have recently taken up residence in our tower, directly above our front door.

Serious thought is now being given to a special prize next year for any scarecrow that can actually scare birds...
