Christian Aid Bucks Trend

Christian AidOk, so we're half way through 2012; lowest bank rate in living memory, yet none of our young people seem to be able get an offordable mortgage to get their feet on the property ladder; rates of pay are frozen or falling; pension incomes are plummeting, negative growth in the UK economy; rising unemployment (especially amongst our young people)...

Now, pick up your Christian Aid envelopes and start trogging round your alloted streets, posting envelopes through finger-slicing letter boxes, dodging dangerous dogs on the way, then take a moment to try and predict how much Shefford is likely to give compared to recent history. Hmm...

It's got be less right? People are skint out there.

Sorry, but you obviously don't know Shefford very well. Two years ago, in 2010, the good people of Shefford gave a (then) record total of £2,153.91 (combining the Christian Aid Week door-to-door collection, and the Lent Lunches).

Christian AidThis Year? How does £2,100* for the door-to-door collection PLUS £900* for the Lent Lunches sound? Sounds like £3,000.00 to us!

That's nearly a 50% INCREASE in donations compared to just 2 years ago.

GOD BLESS THE GOOD PEOPLE OF SHEFFORD!!!
