Message Of Support For Archbishop

The Arch Bishop of Canterbury's "Temple Lecture" was discussed at the end of our 9.45 Family Communion Service on 10th February.

The overwhelming view expressed by the congregation was that a small section of the lecture had been quoted out of context. It was also felt that the issues addressed were vitally important ones needing careful and considered debate in today's multi-faith Britain. Furthermore, it was felt that the Church of England is lucky to have an Arch Bishop with the courage to discuss such contentious issues.

The congregation asked the Vicar, John Harper, to send a message of support to the Arch Bishop on their behalf, thanking him for bringing these issues out into the open, which he agreed to do.
