Shefford's YNU Group show what a difference a day makes

One child is orphaned by HIV/Aids every 14 seconds. But this is not just a statistic. We're talking about real children, in desperate poverty, trying to survive. Now...

LOGO: World Vision 24 Hour Sponsored Famine 2005This is the challenge that Shefford's YNU youth group have risen to - helping World Vision in their quest to raise £1 million to provide much needed care, food, water, healthcare, and support for children orphaned by HIV/Aids, including supplementary food, medical care and life skills training.

Over the weekend of the 12th & 13th February 2005, the YNU group are holding a sponsored 24 Hour Famine plus a number of additional fundraising activities to help them to beat last year's record of £1,234 (£975 in 2003).

So, What Can YOU Do?

Simple - take a look at the fundraising events listed below, then come along and dig deep to support the YNU group's efforts. If you can't make it, just call Jenny Vass on 01462 626101 to make a sponsorship pledge:

Saturday 12th

 

 

10am - 12.00

BRING & BUY SALE in the Scout hut (opposite St Michael's Church)

2.30 - 4.20pm

BAG PACKING SESSION @ SOMERFIELDS - let us pack your bags for you plus a special carry to the car service and trolley return for only £1

2.30 - 4.30pm

COIN PIZZAS @ St. MICHAEL'S CHURCH - the Young people will be collecting any of your loose change and make "Coin Pizzas" with them. There will also be an opportunity to see the World Vision video.

Sunday 13th

 

 

 

Sunday morning the young people will be visiting 3 churches with a short drama and presentation about the famine
