20
young people took part in the famine this year and for the first
time we were given the opportunity to pack bags at Somerfield for
a donation. This went really well, despite the starving young people
having to pack delicious items, and raised at least £163.80.
The bring and buy sale raised £88.83 despite a low attendance.
The coin collection has raised over £130. The sponsor money
has raised at least £780 with more to be added in, so the
total so far is £1,138.49 .We will keep you updated on the
total amount.
Thank you to everyone you contributed or helped in any way
On the Sunday morning the young people visited Shefford Methodist
, St. Michael's, and Shefford Baptist churches where they performed
a short drama explaining the problem HIV has on people and told
the congregations about the famine weekend. Finally, we polished
off the weekend with a meal together before going home.
I would like to thank the young people and all those that helped
me this year , for making it another successful weekend. The
money will make a difference to the lives of children in Africa,
we have enough money so far, for 16 children to have a whole year
of care.
Well done shefford ( and the villages )
