 Crucifixion Raises Funds For Unicef

About 40 singers from different churches in the Shefford Deanery came together in St Michael's Church Shefford on Passion Sunday (6th April 2003) to sing Sir John Stainer's musical meditation "The Crucifixion".

There was a short rehearsal in the afternoon before the work was sung to a congregation of about 70 people who were able to join in the hymns which occur at several places in the performance.

The tenor soloist was Graham Albone and the bass soloist was Leslie King. Philip Rogers was the organist and the conductor was John Morley, Vicar of Henlow & Langford.

A retiring collection raised £190 which is being sent to Unicef for their work with children in Iraq at this time
