 Internet Safety

Logo: MessengersThe Internet is not, in itself, an 'evil medium' - like all media though, it is capable of delivering evil content.

The internet in all it's forms (the World Wide Web, E-mail, Chatrooms, Instant Messaging, Newsgroups, On-line Gaming, File Sharing etc.) opens up an exciting and compelling world of education and fun for our children.

Even if you haven't got a computer at home, your children can still gain access to the internet via computers at school, friend's houses, and the local library. Many games consoles and mobile phones also have the ability to connect to the internet.

"For the vast majority of children, their use of the Internet will be perfectly safe and enjoyable, but nothing in life is 100% safe all of the time, and the Internet is no different.

Just like in the real world, we need to take sensible precautions on the internet to protect our families from harm"

 Supervision and Guidance

Our children have access to the internet. Like it or not, that's a fact.

We all need to have sufficient knowledge of the opportunities and threats that the internet brings. Without it, we cannot provide the advice, guidance and supervision that our children expect and deserve from us.

This section of our website is designed to give you access to a wide range of resources to help get you 'up to speed' with this important area of child safety:
