Lent Lunches A Success

Shefford Churches have once more hosted a successful series of "Lent Lunches" in the Community Hall to raise money for Christian Aid.

Despite the bad weather and the recession, the amount raised has been provisionally announced as over £800. As around £350 of that was gift-aided, the final figure is hoped to exceed £900!

It was pointed out by Jenny Dann at this morning's service that Christian Aid are already actively working to relieve suffering in Syria. Things have become so serious that the DEC has just launched a major appeal for funds to help the huge number of displaced Syrians.
